What a great find on our last trip to Spruce Pines & Newland area!!! On Sundays they have a buffet. There was an amazing amount of food options to choose from. I can attest that the omelette bar was great, as was the grits, bacon, and other breakfast goodies. The best though was the apple fritter & donut French toast that was cooked in front of us. OMG delicious. The gentleman cooking eggs & French toast was very personable & very organized in juggling orders. The owners were very engaging in personal conversation and thanked us for stopping in while in the area. This is definitely one of my new favorite mountain restaurants.
Stopped there Sunday morning for breakfast. We got there right at 9 as they opened the doors. There were several families waiting in the parking lot which we took as a good sign. On Sundays they have their breakfast buffet which is amazing. Cook to serve omelets, eggs, and French toast in one area, grits biscuits, bacon, hash brown casserole, fruit, waffles, sausage etc on the other side. It's not very big but the food was great! Very reasonably priced as well.
Best service ever, the atmosphere is super cute and friendly. The food is great, definitely above average for a buffet. There was one guy who made all the omelets, eggs, and French toast custom right in from of you. He was super sweet. Will be coming back

We absolutely loved our visit to Kaye's Kitchen. We sat outside because it was a beautiful day. The service, while a little slow, was friendly and helpful. Plus, we weren't in a hurry so it did not matter and it could've just been the time of day we were there. The food was amazing. As you can tell by the pictures, the presentation was everything. Highly recommend!
The food was delicious. I preferred the regular fries to the sweet potato ones so I need to remember that for next time. They said at first there would be an hour wait but we were seated quickly when we split our group (at first they said we couldn't which seems odd but they changed their minds I guess). The ambience was nice, tables pretty close together but we all enjoyed our food and I would go back again.
We were on the way home from Blowing Rock on Labor Day and stopped for brunch. We had skipped all the restaurants in Blowing Rock because of how crowded they were. We are glad we did, the food is really good, highly recommend either build your own omelette or the Mountaineer's Platter. Good service and good food at a very reasonable price.
Had breakfast while staying in campground next door. Atmosphere on creek w/outdoor seating was nice. Food was great. Good selection. Will be back.
We've been going to Kaye's for years and I'm so happy to report that it just keeps getting better and better! I'm so impressed with what she and her team has accomplished over the years and we wish her continued success! Anyone who has owned or worked in a restaurant knows how hard it can be to keep going, but Kaye has persisted and improved and held to a standard most restaurants never achieve. FABULOUS omelettes, an AMAZING Sunday breakfast and brunch spread and she's been successful in keeping her prices reasonable. ( Not everyone is a millionaire!!) I'm really just so proud to have witnessed the rewards of her hard work and scrumptious menus. Her suppers are WONDERFUL! Thank you to the entire staff, who keeps this wonderful gem of a restaurant in tiny Newland, NC, running so perfectly! She's set a VERY high bar! Well-done.
